Joe and Kevin met during production of the animated feature film 9, where they discovered they shared a love of kung-fu movies and The Abyss. Acknowledging that this specific combination was rare, they began working together immediately.
Kevin Adams is a native of Toronto, Ontario, drawing robots and monsters in his basement since the 4th grade. He cut his teeth at Disney Feature Animation, where he worked on now-classic animated films like Hercules and The Emperor’s New Groove. He went on to production design at Dreamworks Animation and ReelFX Animation Studios, and was the Creative Director of ARC Productions.
Joe grew up in Silicon Valley, where his obsession with monsters and spaceships drove him into a career in visual effects. He animated on movies like The Chronicles of Narnia, Pacific Rim and Transformers: Age of Extinction. He also worked as an animation director at Walt Disney Imagineering, where he animated the full-scale Na’vi Shaman figure for Pandora — the World of Avatar.
Kevin and Joe were finalists in the New Regency/Break Media science-fiction film contest, where they produced the sci-fi short film GEAR. They wrote and directed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle short We Strike Hard for Nickelodeon Animation. Most recently, they wrote and directed the animated feature Next Gen for Netflix.
They both live in Los Angeles with their families.
