Brown Bag Films Toronto is known for producing evergreen kids favourites like Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood, Wild Kratts and Blue’s Clues and You! along with exciting new series like Sago Mini Friends and Rosie’s Rules, just to name a few. Talented staff, dynamic partnerships and a commitment to quality are key pillars for the studio which produces a mix of service shows along with its own IP. At this panel, meet Nora Keely, SVP Production – Canada, Natasha Sasic, Head of Art & Design, and Natali Topalovska, Line Producer, as they talk about their own unique career paths and how Brown Bag Films focuses on nurturing internal talent.

Cory Bobiak, Creative Director, Brown Bag Films

Cory Bobiak is a Toronto-based director and artist with an extensive list of television, design and artistic achievements. Cory has worked in both children’s and adult television programs ranging from the Emmy award-winning Peg + Cat, to Comedy Central’s Ugly Americans. He has animated, designed and storyboarded on numerous series including Mucha LuchaJimmy Two ShoesRick & Steve –the happiest gay couple in all the world, Ugly AmericansWibbly Pig and Peep and the Big Wide World. Cory has been nominated for multiple Emmy® awards including Best Direction for a Preschool Animated Program for Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum in 2020 and Peg + Cat in 2019 and 2016. Cory currently serves as Creative Director at Brown Bag Films Toronto.

Nora Keely, SVP Production, Brown Bag Films

Nora has over 20 years of creative and production experience working on a variety of productions that have entertained audiences around the world. After earning her Fashion Degree at NCAD Dublin and working in the fashion Industry for several years, Nora launched her creative career in Toronto building props for numerous high-profile theatrical productions such as "Lion King", "The Producers", "Fosse", "Kiss me Kate" and "Mamma Mia".

 

Nora’s wide-ranging skill set ushered her into a career in animation where for over 5 years she led teams of artists, fabricators, and seamstresses for multiple award-winning stop-motion productions at Cuppa Coffee Animation.

 

Joining Guru in 2012, she produced and supervised a multitude of productions, tests & pilots and as Supervising Producer & then Director of Production she oversaw award-winning shows and films including “True & the Rainbow Kingdom”, “Paw Patrol”, “Space Between Stars” and the Oscar-nominated film, “The Breadwinner”.

 

Since joining Brown Bag Films in 2018, she's been working on multiple noteworthy and prominent projects with many talented and creative people, making Nora a happy camper! In her spare time, she still loves to keep her hand in at sewing, working with fabrics, experimenting with armatures and building fun stuff!

Natali Topalovska, Line Producer, Brown Bag Films

Natali Topalovska is a Line Producer for Brown Bag Films, with 10+ years of industry experience in the world of animation. Natali started her career as a Production Intern at Brown Bag Films (formerly 9 Story Entertainment) and steadily moved up the ranks before doing stints at Pipeline Studios, Yowza! Animation Corp, and House of Cool Inc., with roles in both scene planning and production management. Brown Bag was thrilled when she rejoined the studio as a Line Producer close to a year ago. She has been involved in many amazing series, including titles like Let’s Go Luna (PBS), Welcome to the Wayne (Nickelodeon), Pretzel and the Puppies (Apple TV), What If...? (Marvel), and Rosie’s Rules (PBS). She is currently based in Toronto, where she teaches as a Professor at Sheridan College.

Natasha Sasic, Head of Art & Design, Brown Bag Films

Natasha Sasic is a multi talented artist whose passion for art and creativity has always been at the forefront of her career. Getting her start in architecture, she became curious about the world of animation and through practical application, realized her love of creating new characters and the worlds they live in. After graduating from the animation program at Sheridan College, Natasha had an epiphany; "Why design just the building, when the characters that live inside the building are the heart?". Her combined passion for architecture, animation and design opened many doors, and in turn, also led her to the world of toy design. Throughout her seasoned 30-year career, Natasha has lent her extraordinary talents to many branches of animation production, toy and packaging design, as well as computer and game design. She has designed and directed numerous projects for iconic companies such as Sullivan-Bluth, Warner Bros, Disney Interactive, Disney TV, Fox, Disney Consumer Products, Playschool, and many more! As Art Director, she has applied her strong knowledge of colour theory and impeccable artistic vision to bring many projects to life. Some of her accomplished works include but are not limited to “Nina’s World”, “Jardwellers”, “Color Bloomz”, “Yummi-Land”, “Jimmy Neutron”, “Simpson’s”, as well as numerous Disney Interactive titles such as “Beauty and the Beast”, “Disney's Animated Storybook: Mulan”, “Disney's Tigger Activity Center” to name a few.
