Archie Donato, VFX Supervisor, Entergalactic, DNEG Animation

Archie Donato is a talented VFX Supervisor with over 25 years of experience in visual effects for feature film, episodic content and feature animation. He is the VFX Supervisor for the Netflix series ‘Entergalactic’. He brings a wealth of artistic and technical experience to the role of VFX Supervisor for DNEG Animation, having crafted his career at companies such as ILM, Technicolor, Rhythm and Hues and Digital Domain, including 17 years at DreamWorks Animation.

During his time at DreamWorks, Archie contributed to many of the studio’s biggest films, most notably as CG Lead on ‘Kung Fu Panda’, ‘Megamind’, ‘Monsters vs. Aliens’ and ‘Shrek Forever After’, before his promotion to Lighting Supervisor on ‘Rise of the Guardians’ and CG Supervisor for ‘Mr. Peabody & Sherman’.

After leaving DreamWorks, Archie turned his talents to the supervision of VFX for episodic content, including work on shows such as ‘Home Before Dark’ for Apple TV+, ‘Messiah’ for Netflix and ‘The Loudest Voice’ for Showtime.

Archie originally comes from a traditional film background. As a film school graduate he began his career working on camera crews for features, TV, commercials and music videos before becoming a visual effects artist in the late nineties. Following his first gig as a camera tracker on Roland Emmerich’s ‘Godzilla’, Archie went on to become a VFX artist, contributing to shows such as ‘Star Wars: Episode II’, ‘Stuart Little’, ‘Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines’ and ‘Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius’.

Chris Gooch, Compositing Supervisor, Entergalactic, DNEG Animation

Chris Gooch is the Head of the Compositing Department at DNEG Animation. He has 15 years of experience, working in roles from comp artist to 2D supervisor on projects including ‘World War Z’, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, Disney's ‘The Jungle Book’, ‘Greyhound’, ‘Fast Furious 9’ and many more.

Chris moved into the Head of Compositing role after comp supervising DNEG Animation’s latest project ‘Entergalactic’. He oversaw a large multisite team of compositors to achieve a very challenging look.

Chrissy Metge, Digital Producer, Entergalactic, DNEG Animation

Chrissy Metge is an Executive Producer at DNEG Animation and has been in the Animation film and TV industry for over 20 years. Starting out as an animator, Chrissy followed a natural path into production where her fascination for solving puzzles, building relationships, storytelling and love of filmmaking grew. Some of Chrissy's credits include 'Iron Man 3', 'The Hobbit Trilogy', 'The Jungle Book' and 'Ron's Gone Wrong'. Most recently, she was the Digital Producer on 'Entergalactic'.

Chrissy is also an author and publisher with a great eye for quality stories, illustration and applying big imaginations. One of Chrissy's favourite things is following the script to screen and the whole process in-between.

Kapil Sharma, Animation Director, DNEG Animation

Kapil Sharma is an Animation Director at DNEG Animation with his most recent work being the highly anticipated Netflix television event, ‘Entergalactic’. He is also the Animation Director on the upcoming feature film, ‘That Christmas’. He served as Animation Supervisor on ‘Ron’s Gone Wrong’, helming the development of the show’s main character, Barney. Since joining DNEG in 2017 as an Animation Lead, Kapil has been involved in building the animation team, while helping to fine-tune the rigging and animation pipeline. Prior to joining DNEG, he worked with DreamWorks Animation’s India unit on movies such as ‘Trolls’, ‘Penguins of Madagascar’ and ‘Madagascar 3’. He has also lent his skills to the ‘Shrek’ and ‘Madagascar’ shorts and the ‘Kung Fu Panda’ ride.

New to the behind the scenes of TAAFI, Thalia is a 10 year industry veteran with a passionate enthusiasm for all things cartoon, and a resume that includes the Willoughby's, Addams Family 2, My Little Pony the Movie, and various TV productions. When this west coast transplant isn't storyboarding, you can find her live-streaming on Twitch (DrawsforFun), or trying to fix her terrible posture.
