Yaleh Paxton-Harding
Art Director, Nelvana
Raised in Toronto, the son of two professional artists, Yaleh trained in fine art at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (Halifax) where he worked in photography, painting, drawing, ceramics, printmaking, with a final emphasis on sculpture. After school, returning to Toronto to look for work, he found employment with a large animation company (Nelvana) as a traditional background artist. Not long afterwards, he moved into computer-based technologies, producing background paintings for Sticking Around, an early digital animation series. Keen to learn, his involvement with CGI deepened when working on a show called Rolie Polie Olie. In the time since, he has worked as a technical director, modeler, rigger, surfacer and art director on many CGI productions.
Yaleh continues to develop his own fine art work as well as challenging the aesthetic and technical status quo in the commercial animation industry.
