<p>Ricardo Curtis is one of the animation industry’s most successful professionals, and has played a pivotal role in the production of over 20 successful feature films.</p><p>Jamaican born and Toronto native, Curtis relocated to Los Angeles after graduating from Sheridan College’s Classical Animation Program. Working with Pixar, DreamWorks Animation Studios, Fox, Miramax and Warner Bros, he contributed to a number of projects as a story artist (The Incredibles, Monsters Inc.), Head of Story (Book of Life, Horton Hears A Who), Supervising Animator (Osmosis Jones) and was an animator and designer on The Iron Giant.</p><p>Curtis returned to Canada in 2004 to launch House of Cool with Wesley Lui. As Co-Founder and Creative Director, his keen eye for talent and artistry have cultivated long-term relationships with Dreamworks, Netflix, Disney, 20th Century Fox, Paramount, Universal and Apple.</p><p>Curtis has developed and sold properties to Disney, Bravo!, DHX and Teletoon, earning accolades at MIPCOM for his work. He has produced, written and directed short films, pilots, television series, specials, a novel and commercials. Curtis is a member of Sheridan College’s board that sets the educational curriculum, as well as a member of the Academy of&nbsp;Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.</p><p>Most recently Ricardo directed Ice Age: The Great Eggscapade for Fox/Blue Sky Studios.&nbsp;Curtis has written and is slated to direct an original House of Cool property currently titled <em>Amoeba</em> and the upcoming Clive Barker film, <em>Night of the Zoombies</em>.­</p>

<p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0)">Ray graduated from Ottawa's Algonquin College animation program in 1999.&nbsp; He began working as a traditional key animator on children's television series such as "Tales From The Cryptkeeper", and "Franklin The Turtle".&nbsp; In 2003, he started his career as a digital animator.&nbsp; He continued to work on kids shows such as "Carl Squared" and "The Cat In The Hat".&nbsp; In the span of a decade, he had worked for half a dozen studios in Ottawa. producing work as a character designer, and traditional and digital animator.&nbsp; In 2011, he joined Jam Filled Entertainment as a character animator working on "Camp Lakebottom".&nbsp; He started work as an animation supervisor for Jam Filled in 2015 on "The Loud House", and continued to supervise until 2019.&nbsp; At this time, he became an animation director for Jam Filled.&nbsp; He has directed "Final Space", "The Casagrandes", and "Clone High".</span></p>

We’ll take a closer look at one of these stories, and the collaboration between Cape Town studio Triggerfish and Portfolio Entertainment that brought it to life. Join Leanne Preston (</span><span style="color: rgb(34, 34, 34)">Senior Producer</span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0)">) Tendayi Nyeke (Executive Producer &amp; Development Executive), and Ryan Irwin (Animation Director) for a behind-the-scenes look at&nbsp; “You Give Me Heart”, a story of an unknown artist who wins a cosmic talent show and becomes the new God of Creativity!</span></p>

<p>Adriana (Vargas) Blake is a Venezuelan/American/Canadian (phew!) artist with over 10 years of experience in the animation industry as a storyboard artist and revisionist; with credits in shows such as Johnny Test, Arthur, and Magic School Bus: Rides Again among many others. She’s volunteered at TAAFI on and off throughout the years, recently becoming an official STAAFI and board member in 2021. She's a wife, mom, D&amp;D nerd, and likes mermaids and tea.</p>
