<p><span style="color: rgb(34, 34, 34)">After over a decade-long career in live action where she wrote, directed, and produced multi-genre work that has been awarded and sold in global markets, Tendayi Nyeke transitioned into animation as a development executive for the Emmy Award Winning animation firm, Triggerfish Animation. Tendayi looked after the story development of a diverse slate of shorts, series, and feature films with global streamers and studios. She’s most proud of her role as Executive Producer on Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire, an animated African Sci-Fi Anthology with Disney+ for release in 2023, where she supported 14 directors across the continent. Her feature film Tribe made the official MIFA 2022 selection which she pitched at the Annecy Animation Festival and was highlighted by Cartoon Brew as one of the top 5 films to watch. Tendayi is thrilled about her current role as a co-executive producer for Netflix Animation Feature Film.</span></p><p><span style="color: rgb(34, 34, 34)">Tendayi holds an MBA in Music and Creative Industries and is passionate about where art and business meet. Her dream is to do her part to amplify diverse voices worldwide and use creativity to celebrate the fun, madness, and beauty all of us possess.</span></p>

<p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0)">Sheldon Lisoy is a Compositing Lead at Sony Pictures Imageworks most recently working on the groundbreaking SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0)">Previously, Lisoy worked at DNEG as a Compositing Lead on the Netflix feature NIMONA. He spent eight years as a Lighting and Compositing Supervisor at Guru Studio and his credits include: THE BREADWINNER, TRUE AND THE RAINBOW KINGDOM, and PAW PATROL</span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 255)">.</span></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0)">He has a degree in Visual and Creative Arts from Sheridan College and a Graduate Certificate in Computer Animation.</span></p>

But worry not; for we’ve brought together the greatest team since Chocolate and Peanut Butter to share their funding stories and secrets with you!</span></p><p><br></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0)">Join independent animator Tina Nawrocki (Syrenka: Legend of the Warsaw Mermaid), Cloudrise Pictures’ Denver Jackson (The Worlds Divide), and Sheridan College’s Tabitha Fisher (Hey Men!) as they explain their experiences with crowdfunding via platforms like Indiegogo and Kickstarter, acquiring grants through platforms the Canada Council for the Arts and the NFB Film Assistance Program, how they handle self-financing their projects in addition to external funding, which funding avenue is right for the film you want to make, and a sneak preview at their incredible upcoming films!</span></p><p><br></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0)">We’re so excited to hear what these phenomenal independent filmmakers have in store for us!</span></p><p><br></p>

<p><span>Tabitha is an animator, writer, and educator, and is currently a Full-Time Faculty member at Sheridan College's Honours BA Animation program teaching 2D Layout and Short Film Workflow to the second year cohort. Graduating from animation school in Toronto in 2007, she has held many positions within the Animation industry as well as supervised BG Paint and 2D Layout on various productions. Tabitha has competed an MFA at OCAD U in Digital Futures (2020) where her research focuses on the effect of online sharing culture on creativity. In 2011, she created/directed the animated short Missed Connection through The NFB’s Hothouse program, and in 2023 wrapped production on a 5-minute satirical rock opera titled Hey, Men! about the rise of populist bro-culture, which will make its festival debut in Spring 2024.</span></p>
