Sonya Carey

After graduating from the University of Guelph with a BA in Theatre , and after a brief backpacking tour of Europe, Sonya relocated to the Los Angeles area to pursue lighting and sound design, as well as acting, as a career.

Landing a job in an animation studio was unexpected, but turned out to be the best thing that could have happened.  Animation combined all of the elements of entertainment that Sonya was looking for.   Acting, Technology, and Entertainment all rolled into one amazing package.

Having had a long and illustrious career, Sonya has worked her way up from Artist to Producer and Head of Production on both animated series and feature films such as The Princess and the Frog, Daniel Spellbound, Kronk's New Groove, and The Ren and Stimpy Show just to name a few.

At this time in her career, Sonya is giving back to the industry as the founder of The Animation Lounge teaching facility and has joined Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles as a full-time faculty member in the Digita Arts and Animation department.
